Learning to speak in the mother tongue is very important for a child’s overall development. Being fluent in the mother tongue benefits the child in many ways. It connects him/her to their culture, ensures better cognitive development, and aids in the learning of other languages.

Various Germanic tribes have occupied northern Germany since classical antiquity. A region named Germania was documented before 100 CE. During the Migration Period the Germanic tribes expanded southward. Beginning in the 10th century, German territories formed a central part of the Holy Roman Empire.[8] During the 16th century, northern German regions became the center of the Protestant Reformation.

A lot of research has suggested that mother tongue education is a crucial step in language learning for children. In fact, there are studies which show that students who have initially started their learning in their home language, seem to have a better ability to learn other languages and generally develop good language skills later in life. Learning does not start in school. It starts in the home and in the learner's mother tongue. Parents need to communicate with their children in the mother tongue to not just facilitate better learning but also to connect them to their culture and history.

Through MATA Mana Telugu Badi, we are trying to give this knowledge of mother tongue to our Children.

At Mana Telugu Badi, our Primary objective is to prepare our children to communicate, read and write in Telugu and be aware of our wonderful Telugu culture.

FREE TELUGU CLASSES MATA IS DELIVERING FREE TELUGU CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AS PART OF MANA TELUGU BADI INITIATIVE SINCE 2017.

We are now starting a new batch of 15 students for all the eligible kids from April 2021 for the duration of 1 year.

So, all the parents who want to send their kids to Telugu classes, please register your kids through email

Eligibility :

• Kid should be more than 6 years.
• Maximum 15 kids per batch.
• Family should be having the MATA membership.
• First come first serve basis registration (MATA Life-time members will have priority).

Class Structure:

• 1 Hour/ Week (Sunday: 10:00-11:00 AM)
• 1 Year Course
• As of now it will be an online class, later we may shift to classroom.
• After successful completion, kids will get a Certificate and an Award from MATA.

Mana Telugu Badi Awards and Rewards

• Students will be awarded with small gifts in the class whenever they do something noticeable in Telugu. Ex: Singing a song, giving a speech or writing an article in Telugu.
• After successful completion of the school year each student will be awarded with a formal Certificate.
• Students will be performing plays/songs on stage on MATA events during the school year.
• Based on the performance of the student in the school year, we announce some special awards for the students who did something special.
• After successful completion of the school year each student will be awarded with an award from MATA.
• At the end of the school year, at MATA Ugadi Celebrations event, based on the performance, the Student of the Year Award will be given to the top performer of the batch.

We are looking for Volunteers

• 1. Teaching Staff.

  • The course contents and the structure will be given to them, they must deliver the same.
  • Minimum commitment 1 year.

• 2. Support Staff

  • Manage attendance, class sheets and other formalities.
  • Manage the kids during the class. Support Teaching staff.
  • Minimum commitment 1 class. (Commitment should be given prior to the school year)

• 3. MATA Mana Telugu Badi Wing Member.

  • Support Mana Telugu Badi initiative.
  • Take up new initiatives and drive those initiatives related to Mana Telugu Badi.
  • Prepare course materials, syllabus and documentation etc...
  • Minimum commitment 1 year.
